Having no nearby means of speedy travel, Gonzo and Jumanji traveled on foot. They walked till their shoes melted, tore and stuck to the gravel.
“We have no shoes,” said Gonzo, bluntly.
“The Achilles Boots would do nicely right about now, huh?” said Jumanji.
Quietness followed, with Gonzo and Jumanji desperately looking for help; already in trouble; their feet just couldn’t take the pebble-encrusted gravel.
Still they walked further. They were shoeless, but not hopeless. And still further they walked, when they finally heard:
“You lookin’ for footwear?” said an old voice. Gonzo turned around and saw a vendor selling gear. The venders stall, shaded with large yellow leaves, had blended well with the environment.
For its small size, the stall was wonderfully stocked. This came as a major relief to both Gonzo and Jumanji, whose pebble-ridden heels were bruised.
"Right now, you can buy 'Trusty Dusty Travelers Boots' for only 20 zenny a pair."
"Deal!"
After buying two pairs of the drab colored travelers boots (the price of which covered by part of Gonzo’s Ornithcopter School savings) the adventurers set out once again.

To Greener Pastures
“Where can we go?!” asked Jumanji, unable to tell where they ran from, and where they were running.
Minutes later, Jumanji and Gonzo slowed down after realizing that the only thing chasing them was the pitch blank night.
Gonzo proposed they consume a coconut and check direction. With the compass, Jumanji made note of the sky; a hint of blue could be seen, and it was concluded they would have to cross the swamp.
The swamp had a thick tangled canopy above and heavy moss below. Jumanji crafted a kayak from some vary large leaves for both Gonzo and himself. They used ordinary branches as paddles and sailed across the swamp.
Initially, Jumanji was sailing considerably slower than Gonzo. His ability to record sketches of the various sights that shifted before him took the best of him.
It was almost dawn. As Gonzo and Jumanji cautiously sailed in the vast swamp, they made an observation: a sublime beauty existed in even the remotest, most mangled, tangled vine that existed in the swamp.
While sailing through the swamp, Gonzo noted that although kayaks Jumanji crafted were well made, the thick green swamp water was starting to damage their little sails. Time was running out; as scenic as the swamp was, they had to go through it quickly.
After avoiding the green snakes and yellow alligators, the end of the swamp neared. The sun had become visible now, Gonzo and Jumanji felt ambivalent from lack of sleep, and glad to leave the swamp via an aperture.
Gonzo and Jumanji’s eyes welcomed the bright photons that reflected from the gradation of dark swamp green to bright solar light.

The Forest at Night
Gonzo and Jumanji had walked for miles, stopping only to collect a pear or coconut from a tree. Thus far, they had only one pear and one coconut.
The day was breaking and they seemed to be getting lost.
"Looks like we're slowly yet surely approaching the swamp," said Gonzo as he noted an increased level of mud on his shoes.
If there was a day where time was on Gonzo and Jumanjis side, it was not today.
"Where'd the sun go?" asked Jumanji, as he recalled they had only 3 coconuts and 2 pears to live on.
"We might be in tribe territory," said Gonzo as he noted the footprints etched in the now solidified mud while setting his sleeping bag.
Jumanji had started to clear his sleeping area of the strange bugs he had sketched in his pocket data book seconds ago when he was stuck with tragedy.
Due to the possibility of a tribesman encounter, Gonzo appointed Jumanji as president of the night watch council (he would be awarded one coconut). An hourglass was set, and after the final grain of sand fell, Jumanji’s turn as night watch would be over.
That night, Jumanji's spirit mixed with the forests as he witnessed the dark side of the forest. Be it the rustling he heard, fresh pine he smelt, firefly he saw, fresh air he felt, or pear he tasted--none could truly describe the surreal surrounding atmosphere the forest was enveloped in.
Time itself had fallen into a dark backward and abysm the night Jumanji heard a wolves cry.
"Wolves?" whispered Jumanji to a sleeping Gonzo.
"Gonzo, wolves!" said Jumanji silently to a snoring Gonzo. Jumanji returned to watching the forest. Jumanji's spiritual conversation with the forest resumed after another wolves cry.
After the hourglass indicated his watch was up, Jumanji shook Gonzo.
"It's your turn now", but Gonzo only mumbled.
"Gonzo, I hear something getting near!" exclaimed Jumanji, no longer whispering.
"What!" said Gonzo, who had awoken and could also hear something getting near.
"Good, you're awake," said Jumanji, "now I can finally sleep,"
"Not now, Jumanji! We have to make a run for it--there's no time," exclaimed Gonzo, who was hastily packing up his sleeping bed.
Before Jumanji had time to look back, Gonzo pulled him into a run--a direction reverse of the sound--into the darkness.
"Do you know where we're going?" asked Jumanji.
"Just run if you don't want to encounter an undesirable!"
Gonzo observed that he and Jumanji were in the swamp. The swamp! No the swamp, what with its yellow alligators, red leeches, green poison mushrooms, and green snakes! This was going to be quite an adventure--and they hadn't even reached Zenzou's Isle yet!

Murky Memory
Gonzo and Jumanji (now free) reached a clearing in the forest. A moss-covered tree trunk, dead for decades, was near a small, pebbled stream. Gonzo sat on the trunk, muttering to himself. Jumanji was about to speak, when Gonzo gestured him to stop.
"How can I trust you? All this Achilles Boots business could just be a trap--dreadfully common when adventuring," said Gonzo.
"Well, you can trust my word--I am an adventurer, after all," retorted Jumanji.
"'An adventurer' is a start. Tell me more about your life as an adventurer, Jumanji," Gonzo requested.
“I’d love to tell you the whole thing, honest I would, but as it is, I don’t remember the whole thing,” said Jumanji as he shuffled nearby, pacing to set his mind straight.
“Don’t remember? What’s that about?” asked Gonzo.
“When I turned, or got turned rather, into a monkey, my mind got muddled a bit,”
“So how’d you turn into a monkey?”
“I just told you, I don’t remember yet,”
“Well, how’ll you remember then?”
“Zenzou the monk, who currently lives on Zenzou’s Island, can awaken my memories,” said Jumanji.
Gonzo rubbed his chin, looked up, then looked at Jumanji.
“I have also heard of the monk Zenzou. It is known he possess great knowledge,” said Gonzo.
“Well Jumanji, you’ve told me a bit about yourself, so I’ll share my bit. I am an adventurer from Alfalfa Fields. I seek the Achilles Boots; for only one wearing such boots may operate the Unbound Ornithcopter. I could tell you more… but I don’t want to overload your mind,”
“Fair enough. Right now, let’s begin an adventure,” said Jumanji.

The Mammalian Redemption
Gonzo was not amused. As he walked out the jungle, Jumanji followed (tied up by rope.)
"Speak" grunted Gonzo.
"My name is Jumanji, I was once a human, I am now a monkey. I seem to summon coconuts at will,"
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't sell you to the circus and become king," said Gonzo.
"For the Golden Boots," said Jumanji.
Gonzo had suddenly become agreeable. Hearing "boots" had stuck a pleasant bell in his mind.
"I haven't heard about these boots, do tell more" said Gonzo. Jumanji was shocked.
"You're bluffing! What point is there adventuring when you don't know about Achilles Golden Boots! Don't you know that the Slug Meister (the Maleficent) will take over our world if he obtains them?!"
WHAT ARE ACHILLES GOLDEN BOOTS? WHO IS THE SLUG MEISTER?

The Jungle of the Mammalian Monkey
Gonzo had stepped through several separate trails. Following the recurring cry, he was approaching monkey territory.
Being an adventurer, Gonzo wasn't surprised to spot a monkey around. He was more interested in the cry for help; a very foreign thing to him. As he walked further, a twig underfoot cracked.
Many monkeys started screaming, and before knowing it, a monkey had fallen, hung upside.
The hanging monkey was wearing rough human clothes and was face to upside down face to Gonzo. Gonzo was expecting a normal monkey scream, but he heard differently:
"HELP ME!" Gonzo was profoundly disturbed, and very agitated.
"ITS GONNA KILL ME!" thought Gonzo as he took a mighty swing towards the hanging, clothed monkey.
The clothed monkey vanished. Gonzo looked up to see the clothed monkey being dragged off with other monkeys. Gonzo moved on, yelling:
"You're trying to muddle my mind, and it's NOT working,"
After 30 minutes of exploring the now cry-free jungle, Gonzo felt somewhat satisfied and was about to leave. Just then the clothed monkey dropped down, and with an arm reaching Gonzo, said:
"You gotta save me from them, they think I'm a--" a sudden normal monkey shout was heard from above. Gonzo opened his mouth to speak, but someone flung monkey-dung in it. After trying to semi-spit, semi-vomit, he rinsed his mouth with his bottled water.
"That's it, now I'm angry!" yelled Gonzo. The monkey yelled louder. The clothed monkey, however, was trying all the while to say something softly.
"Um, now listen erm--", or "Please, just listen--", and even "Lets all just calm down now and--"
Between the monkeys and Gonzo, all hell had broke loose. Dungs were seen flying everywhere and stones were being thrown by Gonzo. Then the clothed monkey threw a coconut at both parties. Suddenly everyone silenced. The wild monkeys had left.
"My name is Jumanji, I was once human." said the clothed monkey. Gonzo, stunned, just stood there, muttering something to himself ('I am not nuts, I am not nuts,' and also: 'the monkey has coconuts, the monkey has coconuts'...)

The Day of The Scorching Sun
North of the Alfalfa Fields, a vast open green field lay, prime with wheat vegetation. Given time, a lady bug could be spotted somewhere.
Gonzo the adventurer often found solace around. There were few clouds, and the sun was furiously present. Gonzo, sitting in a tree’s shade, heard an echo above. He saw a bird pan far away. Bursting into the only cloud, the bird had vanished.
Days later, as Gonzo was walking to his home from his Ornithcopter Operating School, he heard a cry. The cry came from the jungle, and seemed animalistic. With time to kill, Gonzo approached the jungle.
“This stick should come in handy,” thought Gonzo as he picked up a gnarly wooden branch. Without another word, he went into the jungle through one opening nearby.
WHAT DID GONZO FIND IN THE MYSTERIOUS JUNGLE?
